MCA Membership Benefits

The Minnesota Coaches Association was founded in 1997 and is an affiliate of the International Coaches Federation (ICF). The intention is to serve the whole Minnesota and Greater Coaching Community, including non- ICF Coaches.  All are welcome here.  It is a vibrant and evolving organization.

ICF Affiliate
As an International Coach Federation (ICF) affiliate chapter, MCA connects you to the worldwide community of coaches and expands available coaching resources through a global network. The ICF may be found on the web at: www.coachfederation.org

MCA Website
As a member, you will have access to the Members Area of the MCA website. This area offers expanded content, tools, links and resources for the coach.

MCA Coaching Orientation
MCA Virtual Orientations for new coaches are held each month. Each monthly teleconference call covers what it's like to be a coach, how to become a coach, information on training organizations, certification and coaching as a business.
Dates and times are available on the website.

Online Membership Application
Memberships may be applied for and renewed on-line. All memberships are now one year in length, beginning on the date you sign up and coming up for renewal one year later. Memberships may be paid for using Credit Cards or Check.

Building Community
The community of MCA members comes from diverse professional backgrounds, varied schools of coach training and a full range of professional coaching experience and certification--from novice to master coach. It is this diversity of membership that provides a rich environment for members to build a collaborative alliance of professional resources, develop business networks and foster friendships.

Leadership and Professional Development
As a member-supported organization, MCA offers leadership and volunteer opportunities for members who want to be actively involved. The Leadership Team is comprised of members-at-large and leaders of working committees such as Professional Development, Communications, Membership, Greater Community, Social Action and Transformation, etc. MCA is lead by the Leadership Teams,  President and President-Elect, and Past-President. Everyone is encouraged to get involved. Leadership roles are open to all members of the MCA. For more information on Leadership roles and teams, see the About Us section of this site.

Professional Development
This monthly gathering of the MCA membership is at no additional fee to current members. The professional development programs provide innovative topics and speakers, which serve to educate, energize and enrich the community of coaching professionals.

Seminars and Groups
The MCA hosts periodic seminars which provide in-depth explorations of key topics essential for successful coaching. Members have opportunities to be speakers at these events. This is an opportunity to share your expertise and knowledge with other coaches; market your expertise. 

Virtual Classroom
This monthly teleconference provides additional opportunity for MCA members to join their peers in the coaching profession. The classroom is intended to expand our experiential reach by serving members with rich learning about coaching. Dates and times are available on the website.

Monthly Newsletter
The Catalyst is the MCA's monthly electronic newsletter that serves to inform and connect its community of coaches. Individual members of MCA may publicize workshops or programs here.

MCA Membership Directory
Members are listed in and have access to the Minnesota Coaches Association Directory. The directory contains many resources for the coaching community. It is available on-line and in a downloadable PDF format

MCA FIND-A-COACH
Find a Coach service available to the general public on the website. 

Sustaining Member Benefits

Guest Passes -  Receive 6 guest passes per year to share with colleagues, clients, and friends ($120 value)

Discounts on Services- Affiliate members and other businesses offer a range of specials or discount to sustaining members

Advertising in the Catalyst - Advertise your business or next offering for free.  One free 1/4 page ad per year.  First come first served. ($100 value)

Best Practices Roundtable Breakfasts -  Quarterly meetings to share best practices and tips with other members.
